Every study session moves through moments of focus, distraction, and friction. POLAR reads each one and responds differently.
Focused
It gets out of your way.
When your eyes are on the page and the session is moving, POLAR does nothing. No nudges, no notifications, no ambient feedback. It records the session quietly so it can recap it when you finish.
Distracted
A quiet signal when your eyes drift.
After 15 seconds with your gaze off the page, a small dot pulses in the corner of the tab and a short retrieval question about what you were reading appears beside it. Flip the card to see the answer, then tell POLAR whether you are back on track or still need a moment. No sound, nothing that blocks the page.
Stuck
It rephrases before you give up.
When your gaze stays on the same paragraph for 90 seconds with fewer than 50px of scrolling and 5 or fewer keystrokes, POLAR asks a model to rewrite it at a simpler level. The rephrase appears beside the original. You can read either version or dismiss it with one click.
Your Data
All gaze tracking runs locally in your browser, using 478 facial landmarks measured on your device. Nothing leaves the tab except a state label, a confidence score, and the text of the paragraph you are reading.
